I recently purchased the Olaplex No.10 Bond Shaper Curl Defining Gel, and unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. I have fine hair, and the gel felt far too heavy, leaving my hair weighed down and causing my natural waves and curls to flatten and drop rather than enhancing them as promised.
On application, the product makes the hair feel stiff and brittle until it fully dries, at which point a shake (or scrunch) loosens it up and reduces that crunchy feeling. While it does provide the advertised 72 hours of frizz control, it does so at the cost of leaving my hair limp, flat, and lifeless. I followed the directions both on the bottle and online, even using a smaller amount due to my fine hair, but the results were consistently disappointing. My curls were so weighed down that they completely lost their shape and definition.
Sadly, this product didn’t deliver the experience I was hoping for, and I won’t be incorporating it into my routine. If I could return it, I absolutely would..
